Independent indoor cat in need of new home ASAP! Very sweet and mild?temperament! Learn more about Eva below!

Hi, ?my name is Eva and I am a very?independent cat who can take care of myself, but I still love attention. Some people think that because I am so independent, I can be ignored but that is not the case! I loved being loved on and really enjoy spending time with my owners. I won’t bite or show aggression, I just get grumpy and walk away when I don’t need anymore affection. I tend to stay pretty quiet most of the time and only meow on occasion (even my meow is very subtle!) but I LOVE interactive play! If you grab one of my favorite toys, I will play ?with you forever! My favorite thing to do is to look out of windows, large patio doors, or anything else that I can see through. I can sit like that for hours! I am up to date?on all my shots and need to remain as an indoor cat, so apartments or houses will both work for me. Adopt me today!

Eva’s Personality

Eva is independent, but still loves attention. She loves to be pet, but only on HER terms. She loves to cuddle with her people on the sofa or on their bed. She is not very vocal; when she does “Meow”, it is fairly quiet. She does Trill-talk. She likes interactive play with her people, and loves to look out windows or patio doors (sometimes for hours). She does NOT like a dirty litter box!

Eva’s Current Home Environment

“Settled.” It is usually fairly quiet, clean, smoke-free, family-oriented-atmosphere.

Eva’s Current Family:

I am late 50s, currently living in an apartment that I share with 3 of my adult children. We are a close-knit family, and our pets are treated as family members and not as animals.

Eva’s Favorite Toys, Food, and Activities:

Eva has a stuffed Care Bear toy she has had since she was about 8weeks of age; this is her “comfort animal”. Her favorite activities are playing fetch with her people using a cloth ball made out of a hair scrunchie, with her ribbon dancer toy (cloth ribbon on a stick), or with her SPROING toy. She uses her Turbo Scratcher (round track toy with a ball in the track for the cat to bat around; it has a corrugated cardboard center that is utilized as a scratching post). Foods: free-fed dry cat food(Purina Cat Chow Weight Mgt), and loves the occasional treat of canned tuna or chicken. Haven’t found a wet food she likes yet. She drinks lots of water, so that has to be kept clean and fresh. Eva loves to watch TV or watch someone playing action video games. Looking out a window is also a favorite past-time.

Why is Eva?Being Rehomed?

We currently are in the process of moving from our apartment into an RV in preparation of moving across country. As we already have 2 other cats and a bird in addition to 4 adults in cramped quarters, we unfortunately cannot take Eva with us. Eva originally belonged to my youngest daughter and was exposed to frequent changes of residence, the “party lifestyle”, and the fact that there were several rescue kittens brought into the home. The kittens received the majority of the attention because they were “cute”, so Eva has a jealousy complex of being replaced. This is why she does not tolerate any other cat — even if the other cat is a resident of that home. She did tolerate a small, mild-mannered dog for a short period of time, so she might be able to get along with another mild-mannered canine.

Eva’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A loving, caring family that will give her the time and attention she deserves and craves, and will provide her with a stable environment. It needs to be a non-boisterous atmosphere with no extremely loud music or people, or frequent parties. No ill-mannered young children (especially toddlers). She also does not tolerate smoke, so a completely smoke-free (ALL types) environment.

Additional Comments:

Eva needs to be an indoor only cat as she could potentially get injured outdoors or get lost (she has been indoor-only all her life). She loves having a “blanket fort cave” or a large box lying on its side to hide in as a safe-haven escape or when she just wants solitude. She also likes to ambush her people from inside the box as play. Eva is currently covered under a pet medical insurance policy that is fully transferable to the new owner. It is through Nationwide Pet Insurance (formally VPI). It is set up under a monthly auto draft for under $50/month and covers all immunizations, any major medical, etc by reimbursement. She also will tolerate baths fairly well; she feels safest when we use an 18-gallon Rubbermaid box placed inside the bathtub. We fill it with warm water (up to her shoulders…. about 3 inches from the top of the box), and use a tear-free kitten shampoo from Petco. As long as the person bathing her remains calm and constantly reassures her how good she is, she stays still. Do not get water in her ears or splashed in her face. She does not like a hair dryer used on her, but tolerates a short towel-drying session. Then she lays in front of a fireplace or a floor heater, or perches on a bed on a towel or in her “Fort” to dry. She despises pet combs (especially wire ones as they scratch her skin or get tangled in her fur), but likes to be combed with a regular large-toothed comb.
