She is shy until she feels comfortable with new people, and prefers to approach you rather than being picked up, but she does enjoy sitting in a lap and being petted. She loves to purr and converse by meowing back to you when you’re talking. A prior owner declawed her front paws, but she has no behavioral issues as a results. She is a quiet, mellow sweetheart.
Luna is being rehomed by her owner, who can no longer care for her due to severe allergies. She is dearly hoping to find Luna a home with cat lovers who will cherish her as much as she does, and provide her with a safe, happy and healthy home.

Luna’s Personality
Luna is a very sweet cat who loves to play fetch with toy mice.
Luna’s Current Home Environment
Quiet 2 cat, 1 person home. Both cats are indoor cats.
Luna’s Current Family:
Single woman with two cats – Luna also has regular interaction with a six person and multiple-animal family (2 adults, 4 children ranging from 7 to 15 years old, 2 cats, 1 tortoise, and 2 fish) who have had cat-sitting duty for her extensively this year due to owner health problems. She got along great with everyone.
Luna’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Luna likes toy mice – she carries them around like kittens, and will throw them in the air and play with them. She will also bring them to you to throw so she can fetch them and bring them back to you. She has a fascination with hair ponytail bands and will also carry them around and hide them if she gets hold of them. Luna is not picky about food – she loves Whisker Lickin’s and Temptations treats, and eats both dry and wet (pate) food.
Cute Luna Story:
Luna was a rescue from a home of multiple cats in which the homeowner became homeless and could not find a placement, and was going to send her to a shelter. She had shuffled through multiple homes temporarily and was frightened and shy when I brought her home. She hid for 4 days underneath a bed, but eventually warmed up to me and has become a gently affectionate cat who greets me every morning and enjoys sitting on the desk in front of me, leaning against my chest, while I work on my computer. She needs someone who is patient enough to let her come to them, but once she does, she is loveable.
Why is Luna Being Rehomed?
I took in two cats without realizing I had a fairly severe allergy. The allergy has not responded to medication and home care after a year, and is worsening. While I love them, they are severely impacting my health.
Luna’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Luna is a sweet, shy cat. She needs a family who will be patient for a period of time until she feels safe and comfortable. Once she does, she is affectionate and playful, and she gets along well with other cats and children. I do not know how she is with dogs, as she has not been exposed to them while I’ve had her. She needs people who are comfortable with a cat that likes to cuddle but is nervous about being picked up or approached quickly.
Additional Comments:
I will be moving out of state before Thanksgiving – I’d like to know that she is adapting to her new home before I leave.
