Hi, my name is Summit!
I am a 6-year-old male Golden Retriever looking for a new home! I am high-energy, so I would be ideal for a family who has time to play with me, will take me on runs or?walks, has a yard, and enjoys being my best friend. I am great with other animals and kids,?and my current owners call me a “people person” because I am so outgoing. I have a very sweet and loving demeanor and would never hurt a fly. I am UTD on shots, have no known illness or allergies, and am ready to go home today! Learn more about me by scrolling down?or apply now by clicking the adoption button below.

Current Home Environment
Stable home environment. Own our home. We have an 11 year cat as well. Nice size back yard for summit. Summit sleeps on the couch in the family room.
I am a stay at home mom who volunteers a couple of days a week. Husband travels a couple of days a week. One teenage son left at home, currently two grandchildren and two more coming.
Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
His favorite toy is a little brown cloth squeaky toy, his Kong when we put peanut butter in it, tennis balls. He loves his blue and pink crocheted blanket to sleep on. He is on lamb/rice Science diet food as he had some allergy problems as a pup with chicken . We’ve just kept him on the lamb/ rice . He loves his walk and to play fetch.
Cute or Funny Story
Okay he is super adorable when he just wakes up and has that sleepy face. He rings a bell (Christmas bells) hanging on the doorknob when he needs or wants to go out. He will make a funny rumbling noise when he wants to be petted.
Why are they?Being Rehomed?
Summit has a “thing” for my 83 year old mother. He cannot settle down when she visits and we are afraid that he may knock her down and hurt her. We’ve tried training, removing him from the room but to know to avail. As my mother is spending more with us, the situation has become more important.
He is also super excitable around babies and we have a set of twin babies due any day. He is so big and it scares the grandchildren we already have. He loves them but he can’t settle down around them
The?Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
A family with older kids , and preferably a home where he wouldn’t be left by himself all day. A family that would give him the exercise and attention that he needs and loves.
