Hi, My name is Phinny!
I am a White/Cream and smooth coated Male Lab Mix Dog. I am 3 1/2 and weigh 40. I live in Slidell, Louisiana.
Happy dog, can be very hyper at times. He is extremely loyal and can be somewhat protective if you don’t present yourself as the pack leader. Loves to run around in the yard and loves tennis balls. He does have a little bit of separation anxiety when left alone. He loves long walks and does great running along side a bicycle.

Phinny’s Personality
Happy dog, can be very hyper at times. He is extremely loyal and can be somewhat protective if you don’t present yourself as the pack leader. Loves to run around in the yard and loves tennis balls. He does have a little bit of separation anxiety when left alone. He loves long walks and does great running along side a bicycle.
Phinny’s Current Home Environment
I live alone in a 2 bedroom house with Phinny with a huge backyard for him to run along.
Phinny’s Current Family:
I am active duty in the US Coast Guard stationed in New Orleans, LA. I moved out here in 2012 and adopted Phinny from a shelter. He’s kept me great company and planned to take him with me when I moved back to California. But being in the military, plans got changed and I’ve received orders to go overseas and won’t be able to bring Phinny along as I will be on a ship.
Phinny’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
He is somewhat of a picky eater but seems to like Purina Beneful dry food. He will rip through any stuffed animals and loves tennis balls, especially the squeaky kinds. He loves to swim as well, although he gets a little scared going in the water at first but once he’s in, he will keep swimming and fetch whatever you throw in the water.
Cute Phinny Story:
Everyday I come home from work, he gets so excited he jumps on the bed and rolls over on his back for me to rub his tummy. And when I don’t rub his tummy, he will wave his arms at me and beg. Regardless of how my day went at work, it brings joy and lighten my mood as I come home to be welcomed and greeted in the manner that Phinny does.
Why is Phinny Being Rehomed?
Moving overseas, uncertainty of future locations. Active Duty Military.
Phinny’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Anyone or family that is capable of caring for Phinny with love and affection. A home with a yard would be nice as he does like to run around. A family that will be able to take the time to work and train with him and let him be part of that family.
Additional Comments:
I have been in touch with one of your coordinators, Debbie Moore about my situation. I will be flying out Apr 25th so I would need to find Phinny a home by the 24th. I will not be able to watch after him after this day. Debbie suggested that we look for both a foster home and a permanent home for Phinny just to be on the safe side. If there is anything else I can do to help this situation and make it easier please contact me and let me know.
