Hi, My name is Athena!

Luna-Athena2

Me and my sister, Luna, found a wonderful new home through Pet Pros!

I am an absolute delight! I am a year-old German Shepherd/Boxer mix with a heart of gold. I am healthy, spayed, up to date on my vaccinations and housetrained and well-behaved. I am also crate trained.

I get along very well with other dogs and cats. I love children. I am playful and fun! I also love belly rubs.

You may have noticed from my photo that I am missing a leg. Well I don’t miss it one little bit. I romp and play with the best of them. I was born with a paw deformity. It was causing me a lot of problems getting around, so my owner and the vet, together, decided that it would be better for me this way. And were they ever right!

I am being rehomed, together with my sister-dog, Luna by my owner. She has fallen on very hard times. Her partner has left her with a baby and two toddlers to care for. She simply does not have the time or financial resources to provide me and Luna with the time, attention and care we need and deserve.

She is very much hoping to find a wonderful person, couple or family that is looking to add two of the best dogs on earth to their family. We are very special, and she is dearly hoping that we can find a suitable home soon.

Cute Athena Story:

Rescued Athena from someone giving her away on Craigslist. She was born with a birth defect in her front left paw. Once we got her and had her examined by our vet we decided it was best to amputate her leg because her paw was such a hindrance to her. She ran up the stairs the day i brought her home after surgery. She doesn’t even realize she only has three legs and gets around extremely well.
