Two Incredibly Cute Cats, 5, Seek New Home Together Due to Owner Allergies – Please Help!

This bonded pair of very cute 5 year old cats are pre-loved, extremely healthy, litter box trained and come complete with an incredible array of supplies. They are both spayed/neutered and up to date on their shots.
Lightning holds the distinction of being Ponte Vedro’s only “toilet flushing cat”, and Rain also has some adorable antics that will entertain and mystify friends and family alike.
These very friendly and funny cats are being rehomed by their owners, who are absolutely heartbroken to have to make this extremely difficult decision.
Unfortunately, this couple both have developed severe cat allergies, and though they have taken incredible measures to try and live with the cats despite their allergies. Nothing has worked, and they must rehome their precious cats or risk serious health complications.
Please consider offering these two purrfectly wonderful pussycats a loving, forever home. Not only will you add a couple of feline clowns who can offer you immeasurable joy, love, laughter and companionship to your home – you will create a very happy ending to a sad situation. Lightning and Rain’s Personality
Lightning – Male – Black with white. He is very friendly and loves attention. He also loves to flush the toilet! Lightning will follow you around the house and tries to open doors.
Rain – Female ? Calico. Rain is friendly, but a bit cautious. She does not want to be ?chased? and picked up, but would rather saunter over to you and climb in your lap.
Lightning and Rain’s Current Home Environment
The cats can roam freely downstairs but are restricted from the upstairs and any carpeted rooms. They also like to go out side on the screened in porch.
Lightning and Rain’s Current Family:
Our home is a bit hectic with a toddler and another baby on the way. Both cats have grown up around children and are friendly with guests. They do hide if we have a large crowd.
Lightning and Rain’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Both cats like to chase small stuffed mice and a toy with feathers on the end of a string. They spend most of the day lounging and napping. They both love to cuddle. Both cats eat dry cat food, but love wet cat food as well. Rain tends to get a bit heavy and we have to watch how much she eats.
Cute Lightning and Rain Story:
Lightning constantly surprises us. One day we heard the toilet water running in the laundry room and thought we’d have to call the plumber. My husband noticed Lightning sauntering out of the bathroom so he decided to set up a camera and sure enough Lightning was flushing the toilet and watching the water swirl around the bowl!
Why is Lightning and Rain Being Rehomed?
My husband and I are both allergic. We are not sure if our 15 months old is yet?. My husband has received 5 years of allergy shots. I?ve had 1 year of shots. The allergist suggested we re-home as things have not improved.
We vaccum frequently, groom the cats outside, use a filter and have now limited the areas the cats are free to roam (Non carpeted areas are ok). We have had all carpets and furniture professionally cleaned. We are also using scat mats to keep the cats off the furniture. These were all suggestions from the allergists.
The cats are upset that they cannot use the sofas and chairs. They are upset that they cannot roam freely into bedrooms (carpet). If the toddler touches the cat or cat bed I then have to wash her and change her clothes. The cats are stressed and the humans are stressed. The cats should be in an environment that does not limit them to a few rooms.
