?Hi, My name is Telly & ?I’d love to be your only dog!American Bulldog For Adoption in NYC 3

I am a healthy, neutered American Bulldog male available for adoption in New York City.

Mellow Telly Seeks Suburban Bliss With Laid Back Family

Telly is a purebred American Bulldog, aged 7. He is a really good dog, and very low maintenance. ?Telly is happy to stay by himself all day if needed, but also enjoys your company in his quiet, unassuming way. Telly weighs 75 pounds and is healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

He?moved to NYC from Los Angeles, where he had a nice fenced yard and plenty of space. Life in a small apartment in Brooklyn just isn’t right for Telly, and although it breaks his heart to do so, his owner feels that finding Telly a great home with a family, couple or single who live in a suburban or country setting would be best for him.
He misses getting outdoors and really isn’t a big fan of apartment life. His owner wants him to be happy and healthy and is willing to do what is best for Telly!

Telly does generally get along with other dogs, although he is not fond of cats. He is not a “dog park dog”, however, since he has occasionally shown aggression towards some smaller dogs in that setting. He is at his best at home, where he is quiet, gentle and companionable. He’s just really easy to be around and the sort of dog that wants a human who can takes things at his more relaxed pace.

Telly will be rehomed with all his belongings. These include his Harness/leash/dry food/treats/heart worm med/flea med/ear cleaner/eye cleaner/vet records/microchip and license records and insurance information. His owner would love to keep in touch with whomever adopts Telly.

If you need a calming influence in your home, Telly can be your rock. He is no trouble, a quiet, not-in-your-face kind of dog. He likes people, but doesn’t make a fool of himself! He doesn’t try hard to be something else, he’s just Telly. He certainly won’t mind if you be yourself too.

Please open your heart and home to Telly today. You can adopt him by filling out our form here: https://petprosservices.com/adopt/. There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee. If you have any questions, please call Debbie or Mark at 888-9-PETS4U.

Telly’s Personality

Telly is very mellow, almost never barks, and generally doesn’t get too excited about much. He likes people, but not overly so. And he’s friendly with most dogs, but not all. He’s not a park dog, and is comfortable being home alone during the day.

Telly’s Current Home Environment

I adopted Telly in LA where I lived in a big house with a yard. But I had to move to Brooklyn for work reasons. Up until a few months ago, I lived in a small one bedroom apt which was tough for Telly. I walked him 3x a day, but he definitely could use a bigger space with a yard. I recently moved in with my girlfriend, who has a dog and a cat, and Telly didn’t get along with the cat, so I had my brother look after him, since my brother took over my old apartment.

Telly’s Current Family:

My brother has been taking care of Telly, along with me walking him every afternoon. Telly doesn’t get along with cats, which makes night walks tough for my brother, but he really loves Telly, and does great impersonations of him! My girlfriend also helps out. She’s a dog owner and very patient, and her dog gets along with Telly very well. They have playdates at our place often.

If the cat got along with Telly, I wouldn’t have to re-home him, but that’s the way it is.

Telly’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves raw hide! Loves it. Loves to watch the subways go by too, loves loud things. He also loves to wrestle.

Cute Telly Story:

I was in a cab one night, and was watching the tv in the back of the cab, when I saw a dog that looked like Telly on the TV. I looked closer, and sure enough, it was him! My dog walker was being featured by the local news and had Telly in her lap. I had no idea that he would be featured in the press. But, he is a very handsome bulldog so it makes sense.

Why is Telly Being Rehomed?

I moved in to my girlfriend’s apartment, and she already has two pets. To bring in a third, who would need serious long term behavior training is just too much. And since I already feel guilty for bringing Telly to Brooklyn, I would love to re-home in a suburban home with access to a yard where he run around and play more.

Telly’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A family, with children that could put a lot of time into Telly would be good. And if they had a dog that was very friendly, that would also be good. Telly needs more interaction with dogs.

A couple would be fine too, or an elder looking for a mellow companion could be okay. But Telly was never properly socialized, so he’s a bit of a challenge. But I wasn’t raised with dogs, so I’ve done the best I could for the past 4 years since I adopted him. Perhaps a more experienced dog person/family, is what he needs.

Its important to note that he’s not super affectionate the way some people want their dogs to be, so I’d be looking for a family/couple/elder who appreciates his mellow personally, and his curious demeanor. He’s very easy to be around.
