Hi, My name is Tyler!

Boxer Mix For Adoption in Tampa 2I am a very sweet medium sized dog with quite a tale to tell. I am just 5 years old, and have been through so much in my short life. I am a rescue dog, and because of what I have been through, I suffer from what is called Separation Anxiety. This means that I get quite nervous when I am left alone.? I also get nervous around children, so I am in desperate need of a new home where I can be given plenty of attention by a single person, couple, or family with teenaged children.

My current owners adopted me from a shelter after hearing my story. I was left alone for a week when my original owner went to jail. That is why I am so afraid of being left alone. I was found and taken to a shelter, but at the shelter I was attacked by a Pit Bull, and I almost died from my injuries. My owners adopted me right after the surgery I had to have to repair my wounds. They have been so kind to me. Unfortunately they have had to make the decision to find me a new home because I have snipped at their their 15 month old baby, and they are worried about his safety.

Despite my anxiety at being left alone and nervousness around small children, I am one of the sweetest dogs you will meet. I absolutely adore my owners and it is Heaven for me to simply sit beside them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going on walks, and enjoy the odd dog treat, including peanut butter.? My owners love me to pieces and are very hopeful that I can find a great home near them where I will be cherished and extremely well cared for – quirks and all.

If you can offer me a safe, loving home where I will be given lots of attention, and where someone is home with me most of the time, please call Debbie at (888) 720-3322?or go ahead and fill out an adoption application for me.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Love,

Tyler

Tyler’s Personality

He has severe separation anxiety. In the company of adults he is great and is a 45lb lap dog. He goes crazy when we leave. He actually has a calm demeanor until food is involved or being left alone.

Tyler’s Current Home Environment

We have a healthy home environment but we have a 15 month old that is getting to curious with Tyler. We have had some snipping incidents between Tyler and the baby and it does not seem to be getting better. Our son does not seem to understand to keep his distance from him.

Tyler’s Current Family:

Young family with a 15 month old.

Tyler’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He does not really have a favorite toy, he has never really been interested in toys unless our other dog has a toy. He absolutely loses his mind when we take him for a walk, he loves it. His favorite activity maybe just sitting next to a human though. He eats regular dog food, loves dog biscuits and Peanut Butter.

Cute Tyler Story:

He is a rescue, which is why it is sad that we need to get rid of him before he harms our child. The story is this: my wife and I went to the rescue and were not really planning on getting another dog. However, we saw Tyler and became interested in taking him home. After hearing his story we could not resist. The story is that his previous owner was arrested, and he was left abandoned in the apartment for a week by himself (hence the separation anxiety). When the Animal Shelter acquired Tyler, nobody wanted him because he would always hide in the back of the cage. When he was at the shelter, he was attacked by a pit bull and nearly killed because of it. We saw him right after his surgery, needless to say after hearing his story we had to take him home.

Why is Tyler Being Rehomed?

We are worried about the safety of our child.

Tyler’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Probably needs to go to a home with no young children. Someone that is going to pay a lot of attention to him. Preferably somebody that likes to go on walks as well as play with him outside.

Additional Comments:

We are dog lovers and don’t really want to get rid of him but with a growing family we feel his demeanor might only get worse around our children.
