Luscious, Lovely Lulu , 4, Seeks Loving New Home

To say that Lulu is adorable, would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. This super cute mix of Papillon and Dachshund is as sweet on the inside as she is on the outside. She is just 4 years old, very healthy, up to date on her vaccinations and very well behaved.

She is a delightful little dog with a playful personality. She loves to cuddle, go on car rides, and be the adored pet of a loving owner.

Her current owner is heartbroken to have to make the difficult decision to find Lulu a new home. Unfortunately, she has fallen on hard times, and cannot afford to provide veterinary care for Lulu, should it be needed. She has also had to work very long hours, and simply cannot give Lulu the time, or attention this lovely little dog needs.

Lulu is looking for a loving home where she will be cherished as much as she is now. She is a great little girl, and will be perfect for a single, couple or family with children old enough to understand that dogs are living creatures and not toys.

Lulu will bring all of her supplies with her, in addition to the sincere appreciation of her current owner, who wants what is best for her.

LuLu’s Personality

LuLu is very sweet, affectionate, playful, silly and energetic. She absolutely loves to go on walks, even on jogs. She loves to run and play. She is so good in the car- she’s been on many 7 hour long road trips and sleeps in the back the entire time (aside from when we take a stop to pee). Receiving attention riles her up and gets her excited, but when the atmosphere is quiet, she is just as happy hanging out around you, and sleeping by your side. She can be shy, submissive and timid at times, but warms up quickly. She is easily intimidated by dogs with bold personalities, but she remains curious. Overall, she is an incredibly sweet, lovable dog that receives a lot of attention from strangers, due to how cute and smiley she is. She will warm your heart!

LuLu’s Current Home Environment

There are currently two adults in our home. Her home life is currently very quiet, as she is generally in one room. There are visitors from time to time, but it’s generally very low key. She is itching to get outside and explore.

LuLu’s Current Family:

I am her owner, and have had LuLu since she was a puppy. I have worked with animals, and dogs my entire life (through humane societies, rescue, as well as working at a Veterinary Hospital). Though now, I live in Los Angeles to pursue another career.

LuLu’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She loves all toys, though I have stayed away from anything stuffed- because she will mutilate it within minutes. So, rope toys, rubber balls, etc.. As for food, I’ve only ever fed her one kind. Though, she does love the treat of adding some cooked sweet potato to her food. I keep the food simple, which seems to keep her digestive system happy and healthy. She loves to run and play freely in a yard, she loves to go in the car, go on walks and runs, go hiking. She will even run by your side as you bike. Basically, she loves to be with you, so whatever you’re doing, she’s into it. Unless it’s swimming… she’s still unsure of water.

Why is LuLu Being Rehomed?

As I said, I have had LuLu since she was a puppy. I was 21 when I got her. For the past 4 years, she’s stayed with me through many life changes, relocations, etc.. My life is changing drastically, with less time to spare. On top of that, I have fallen on financial hard times. If anything were to currently happen to her (like a freak accident; dog bite, hit by car, etc) I would not be able afford to help her- and that scares me the most. When I have to go out of town and can’t take her, I can’t afford to board her. Can’t afford monthly flea treatment and all of the things that healthy dogs require. Like for many others making this decision, this has been a very, very difficult one. But I imagine her living a much more active, involved life where she is getting what she needs, and it lifts some weight off of my chest. I just want her in a happy home where she is loved and taken care of.

LuLu’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I could see LuLu with a couple, a single person, or in a family environment. I want her with someone/a family who are sweet and gentle with dogs, who wish for her to be an active part of the family and who will enjoy taking her out on walks, and playing with her regularly. I just want her to feel safe and loved.
